The main bar of this tastefully modernised pub is split into separate areas by pillars and low dividers. Steeped in local history, the Castle opened in 1871 and is reputedly haunted - a phenomenon attributed by some to its use in former times as a place to lay out the bodies of drowned sailors, washed ashore on the beach, to await burial.
